Individuals who wish to take the assessments must preregister with ACT for the desired test date before the registration deadline.
Test administrations for the APTTP basic skills assessments are scheduled for the following dates:
- May 16, 2009 (registration deadline: April 17, 2009)
- August 1, 2009 (registration deadline: July 6, 2009)
- October 10, 2009 (registration deadline: September 18, 2009)

Refer to ACT's Web site at www.act.org/alabamapttp for score receipt dates (approximately 5-6 weeks after the test date).
Absolutely no registration requests will be accepted after the registration deadline. Registration requests must be accompanied by the fee payment.
The APTTP basic skills assessments are administered at the following test centers:
- Alabama A & M University, Huntsville, Alabama
- Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama
- Athens State University, Athens, Alabama
- Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama
- Faulkner University, Montgomery, Alabama
- Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama
- Oakwood College, Huntsville, Alabama (Friday test administrations only for examinees whose religious convictions prohibit testing on Saturday)
- Troy University, Troy, Alabama
- The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
- The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, Alabama
- University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama
Every effort will be made to assign examinees to the desired test center but test center choices cannot be guaranteed. If the desired test center is closed or filled, the examinee will be assigned to the nearest open center. Assignment will be made with an attempt to minimize inconvenience to the examinee. Registrants are advised to submit materials early.
Individuals may register online at www.act.org/alabamapttp. Individuals who are unable to register online may telephone ACT at (800) 294-2105 or (319) 341-2500. Printed registration bulletins are also available at colleges and universities in the schools of education and also in the testing offices of the designated test centers.
