WHEREAS, the Etowah County Technical Center VICA Chapter attended the National Leadership Conference and Skills USA Championships sponsored by the National VICA Association on June 23-27, 1997, in Kansas City, Missouri; and
 
WHEREAS, the Etowah County Technical Center VICA Chapter was 1 of 17 chapters participating in the National Outstanding Chapter, Multi-Section competition sponsored by National VICA; and
 
WHEREAS, the Etowah County Technical Center won first place in the Outstanding Chapter, Multi-Section competition; and
 
WHEREAS, the entry submitted by the Etowah County Technical Center represented the best entry in the categories of Membership, Program of Activities, Leadership Training, Business and Professional Chapter Meetings, Social Activities, Community Service Activities, Newspaper Publicity, Special Programs, Awards and Recognition Programs, Local Skills Championships, Membership Promotion, Professional Development Program Participation, and Record Keeping; and
 
WHEREAS, the Etowah County Technical Center entry in the Outstanding Chapter, Multi-Section competition was represented by Josh Johnson; and
 
WHEREAS, the dedicated VICA advisors at the Etowah County Technical Center assisted the VICA Chapter in achieving this award; and
 
WHEREAS, the State Superintendent of Education recommends approval:
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the State Board of Education does hereby commend the Etowah County Technical Center VICA Chapter for the honors brought to their school, community, and state.
