WHEREAS, the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation sponsored the Recycling Awards Program to recognize outstanding environmental programs; and
 
WHEREAS, ten Alabama school programs were chosen; and
 
WHEREAS, Hollinger’s Island Elementary School is involved in recycling paper, aluminum and organic materials; and
 
WHEREAS, their latest project involves using lunchroom leftovers as compost food for red wigglers:
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the State Board of Education does hereby commend the Mobile County Board of Education; Paul Joseph Sousa, Superintendent; and Doris Tillman, Principal, for their support and assistance to Hollinger’s Island Elementary School in achieving this honor.
