WHEREAS, the Alabama State Board of Education approves programs, including the time frame for approved program status; and
 
WHEREAS, Alabama State University requested and received a one-year extension from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for the next NCATE review; and
 
WHEREAS, concurrent Alabama and NCATE reviews are scheduled whenever possible; and
 
WHEREAS, the State Superintendent of Education concurs:
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education hereby extends approval of all teacher education programs at Alabama State University until June 30, 2004.
