RESOLUTION COMMENDING CAMERON B. COLES FOR ACHIEVING A PERFECT SCORE ON THE ACT
WHEREAS, Cameron B. Coles, a senior at Auburn High School in the Auburn City School System, made a perfect score of 36 on the ACT; and
WHEREAS, 800 Alabama students were among the 65,000 students nationwide who took the ACT in September 2003; and
WHEREAS, Cameron is the only Alabama student and one of only five in the nation to achieve the highest possible composite score on the September 2003 administration of the ACT, which consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science; and
WHEREAS, ACT Chief Executive Officer Richard L. Ferguson stated that, by virtue of this truly distinguished achievement, Cameron is qualified to attend the most selective colleges and universities in the nation:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education hereby commends Cameron B. Coles for this remarkable achievement and for the hard work and dedication to excellence that obviously led to this distinction, and extends its best wishes for continued success in all future academic and other endeavors.
