The Alabama State Board of Education met Thursday, June 12,
2008, in the auditorium of the Gordon Persons
Building,
Montgomery, Alabama, to consider elementary and secondary education
matters. Members present were: Mrs. Ella B. Bell,
Mrs. Stephanie Bell, Mr. David F.
Byers, Jr.,
Dr. Mary Jane Caylor, Dr. Ethel H. Hall,
Mr. Randy McKinney, Mrs. Betty Peters,
and Mrs. Sandra Ray. Governor Bob Riley was absent. Dr. Joseph B. Morton,
State Superintendent of Education, was also present.
