Tracy Turnipseed Roberts is a native of Montgomery, Alabama, and a 1977 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. She received a BA in Communications from The University of Alabama in 1981.
Following graduation, she worked in Washington, DC, for Congressman Bill Dickinson.
Mrs. Roberts began volunteering in Baldwin County schools in 1996. As a member of local PTAs, Alabama PTA and the National PTA, she served in various leadership roles.
In 2004, Mrs. Roberts ran for the District 7 seat on the Baldwin County Board of Education and was elected to a six-year term. During that term she served two years as Vice-President and two years as President. She was unopposed and re-elected in 2010.
In 2012 she received the All-State School Board Award from the Alabama Association of School Boards.
Mrs. Roberts has been very active in The University of Alabama National Alumni Association, serving as Vice-President and President of the Baldwin County Chapter. In 2011 she was elected as District 11 Vice-President of the National Alumni Association. She also serves as a Board Member of The University of Alabama Parent's Association.
Mrs. Roberts is married to Jim Roberts, an attorney and Municipal Judge for Spanish Fort, AL. They have two grandsons and five children: Robert (Brittany) Lightfoot, Steele (Sarah) Lightfoot, Jane Allen (Reed) Hotard, Mary Bourne and Caroline.
