WHEREAS, the Alabama State Board of Education approves programs including the time frame for approved program status; and
 
WHEREAS, the University of South Alabama’s current approval period ends on December 31, 2005; and
 
WHEREAS, a review of teacher education programs at the University of South Alabama is currently ongoing and the institution of higher education is making good progress in documenting compliance with all standards; and
 
WHEREAS, State Department of Education staff request an extension for completion of the review; and
 
WHEREAS, the State Superintendent of Education concurs:
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education hereby extends approval of all teacher education programs at the University of South Alabama until May 31, 2006.
