WHEREAS, a review of teacher education programs was conducted on July 23-26, and November 21, 2006, by the State Department of Education in accordance with the Alabama State Board of Education, State Department of Education Administrative Code, Rule No. 290-030-030-.80; and

WHEREAS, compliance with State Board of Education rules has been verified; and

WHEREAS, Oakwood College’s programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) with the next visit scheduled for fall 2007; and

WHEREAS, the State Superintendent of Education recommends approval of the programs:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education hereby approves the following programs on December 14, 2006, with approval to expire on June 30, 2008:
