Resolution Commending Wheeler Kincaid As A Recipient
Of The Scholastic Art And Writing Award 2000
WHEREAS, the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers awarded the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2000; and
WHEREAS, this national awards program, founded in 1923, is one of the largest, longest-running, and most generous awards and scholarships programs in the nation; and
WHEREAS, only 1,100 recipients are chosen from a group of more than 250,000 aspiring young artists and writers from across the United States, Canada, the U. S. Territories, and U.S.-sponsored schools abroad; and
WHEREAS, after an exclusive selection process by a judging panel of esteemed artists, writers, educators, and arts education professionals, four winners were chosen from Alabama; and
WHEREAS, Wheeler Kincaid, a student at Collins-Riverside Junior High School in the Tuscaloosa County School System, has received the Scholastic Art and Writing Award for 2000:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education does hereby commend Wheeler Kincaid, a student at Collins-Riverside Junior High School in the Tuscaloosa County School System, as a recipient of the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Award for 2000.
