WHEREAS, Code of Alabama (1975), §16-35-1 through 5, provides that the Alabama State Board of Education shall constitute a Courses of Study Committee for the purposes and functions as provided within the statute; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama State Board of Education appointed 21 members to the Science State Course of Study Committee at its February 9, 2012, meeting; and

WHEREAS, members of the Science State Course of Study Committee, Mrs. Carla White from the sixth congressional district and Dr. Alan Miller from the second congressional district, resigned their positions; and

WHEREAS, the Science Course of Study Committee needs an elementary teacher member representing the sixth congressional district and a secondary teacher member representing the second congressional district; and

WHEREAS, the State Superintendent of Education recommends approval:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Ms. Melissa Rinehart of Bibb County be appointed to replace Mrs. Carla White of Chilton County and Mrs. Deltonya Warren of Eufaula City be appointed to replace Dr. Alan Miller of Eufaula City on the Science State Course of Study Committee.
