WHEREAS, Gloria Whiting, Clerk Stenographer III in the State Department of Education’s Transportation Section, was selected as Employee of the Quarter for October – December, 1998, by the department’s Employee Recognition Board; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Whiting has recommended procedural changes that have resulted in a cost savings to the department. The mail outs in the Driver’s Education and Traffic Safety Section have been consolidated, thereby having less mail outs that saves on postage costs; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Whiting through her work as a Clerk Stenographer III, presents a professional image of the department; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Whiting takes on tasks not specifically assigned to her and exhibits outstanding leadership abilities; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Whiting gets along with her coworkers and says only positive things about everyone:
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Department of Education does hereby commend Gloria Whiting for her selection as the State Department of Education Employee of the Quarter for October – December 1998, and expresses its appreciation for her exemplary service to the department, to this board and, ultimately, to the students of Alabama’s public elementary and secondary schools.
