RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF RANDOLPH SCHOOL BEING NAMED A 2003 NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND – BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
WHEREAS, Randolph School in Huntsville has been selected as a 2003 No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, on July 28, 2002, U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige announced the No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon Schools Program to honor schools that reflect the new national education reform goals for high standards and accountability; and
WHEREAS, the No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior in their states or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement; and
WHEREAS, Randolph School was nominated for the No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon Schools Award by the Council for American Private Education based on its rank in the top 10 percent of schools in the nation in reading and mathematics; and
WHEREAS, Randolph School was one of 214 elementary schools selected nationwide:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Alabama State Board of Education does hereby commend the faculty, staff, students, and parents of Randolph School on achieving recognition as a U.S. Department of Education No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School.
