 "After retiring as superintendent of the Huntsville city schools, I continue involvement in public education for a variety of reasons. Foremost, I realize the importance of a world-class education for our children and grandchildren.  I continue to offer my experience in public education to create meaningful and necessary opportunities for our children. I want to be part of the solution of the many challenges we face in education. It is my most sincere wish for my three grandchildren and all of the children we serve in public education in Alabama that they be provided the very best educational opportunities."
