The Alabama Professional Education Personnel Evaluation (PEPE) program is gradually being replaced with EDUCATEAlabama, the new formative evaluation system for teachers, and LEADAlabama, the new formative evaluation system for school leaders. Teachers during the 2009-2010 academic year should be evaluated using EDUCATEAlabama. This is a pilot year for EDUCATEAlabama. Changes to the new system will be made to reflect data gathered from the pilot.

LEADAlabama will be piloted during 2010-2011. Further updates and announcements concerning training will be posted in the near future. The PEPE system should continue to be used by specialty areas and to evaluate leaders until notification of new procedures.
