Responsible for the management of a statewide comprehensive student transportation program. Activities include:

  • School bus inspection

  • Fleet renewal assistance

  • Driver Education Programs

  • Training and certification of school bus drivers, transportation supervisors, and other transportation personnel

  • Technical assistance

  • Monitoring and evaluation of state and local operations

Responsible for the management of the statewide Driver Education and Traffic Safety Education Program. Activities include:

  • Technical to local school systems
  • Simulation maintenance
  • Compliance with the Alabama Boating Safety Act
  • Implementing the new Driver License Testing Law for high school students
  • Driver Education Summer Certification classes
  • Elementary and middle school traffic safety program.
