Dr. Johnson serves as program administrator for the Alabama Selection Process for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS). The state of Alabama will pay the $2500 assessment fee for candidates who pass the selection process. In addition, candidates who become certified by the NBPTS will receive a $5,000 salary supplement annually.
