Assessment and Accountability
Dr. Gloria Turner directs the Alabama Department of Education's Student Assessment
Program. Each facet of the state testing program is managed from this office
which oversees the development, administration, scoring, and reporting of all
required tests for K-12 students in Alabama.
Assessment specialists in core course content areas, as well as a special
populations specialist (special education, 504, and limited English
proficient), and a NAEP specialist assist in the management of the state
testing program.
An additional component of the Student Assessment Program is managing the state
accountability program.
