The Alabama State Department of Education 2015 External Data Request Policy
Thank you for your interest in Alabama public education. Currently, all publically available education data concerning assessments, demographics, graduation rates, and other public education related information is posted on the
Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) website. The Data Center, a centralized source for information and reports, houses frequently requested data and can be found here:
For access to information not posted, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) must be developed between the ALSDE and a recognized research institution. The ALSDE’s Data Governance Board meets monthly and is responsible for deciding whether an MOU can be developed. For more information on developing an MOU, contact the Data Governance staff at
The ALSDE does not collect or store information pertaining to home schools, private schools, or regarding the General Education Diploma (GED). GED information is available at the
Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education website.
Also, Alabama State Department of Education policy prevents the ALSDE from providing personally identifiable information (names, address, e-mail, telephone number) of administrators, teachers, and support staff – except for superintendents and principals. All superintendents and principals contact information is available in the
Alabama State Department of Education Directory.
