Description

The PLTW Computer Science program curriculum empowers learners to become creators, instead of merely consumers, of the technology all around them. The program engages learners in real-world activities like creating an online art portal and using automation to process and analyze DNA-sequence data. These projects and problems engage students in computational thinking, challenge them to think big, and help illustrate how intricately computer science is woven into our society. The program’s courses empowers learners with in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in career and technical student organizations (FBLA, SkillsUSA, or TSA) or other extracurricular organizations.
