This handbook, written especially for professionals serving students of transition age, includes an overview of transition, as well as twelve other sections that contain information on planning for IEPs, conducting age-appropriate transition assessments, writing IEPs that include transition services, conducting the IEP meeting, and preparing for graduation, along with many other topics relating to secondary transition programming and structures. This handbook will take the place of the previous transition document, Preparing for Life Transition Planning Guide.

The PowerPoint presentation, presented at MEGA 2016, has been revised to provide updated IEP forms to be released February 2017. MEGA 2016 Presentation on writing transition IEPs that are both compliant and relevant. Participants will be provided guidance on preparing for and writing a transition IEP, ways to conduct a transition IEP meeting, ways to encourage parent engagement, steps to take following the IEP meeting, and ways guidance and counseling services can assist the IEP Team.
