​PAEMST is the nation's highest honors for K-12 mathematics and science teachers, and the program alternates each year between honoring elementary and secondary teachers.

PAEMST is the nation's highest honors for K-12 mathematics and science teachers, and the program alternates each year between honoring elementary and secondary teachers.

 

Since 1983, more than 4,200 teachers have been recognized for their contributions to mathematics and science education.

 

In addition, recipients of the award receive:

  • A certificate signed by the President of the United States.
  • A paid trip for two to Washington, D.C., to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities.
  • A $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
  • Resolutions from the Alabama State Board of Education in honor of their hard work.
