The legal system affects nearly every aspect of our society, from buying a home to crossing the street. Workers in the Legal Services pathway form the backbone of this vital system, linking it to society in myriad ways. For this reason, they hold positions of great responsibility and are obligated to adhere to a strict code of ethics.  The pathway curriculum includes, but not limited to, principles and practices of the American legal system, basic legal principles common to business and personal activities, history and development of law, sources of law in society, civil law, criminal law and procedure, ethics and the justice system, ethics and professionalism, constitutional and criminal law, the court system, trial processes, juvenile and correctional systems, and human diversity.  Students will be introduced to a variety of interesting careers including judge, attorney, paralegal, and court reporter.
