State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP): Phase I is part of the new Indicator 17, which is outlined in the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR).  States are required to develop a plan that leads toward improved results for children with disabilities as part of the Office of Special Education Program’s Results-Driven Accountability process.  Indicator 17 is a multi-phase, multi-year plan.  Phase I includes a state-identified area for improvement based on the following: Data Analysis; Analysis of State Infrastructure to Support Improvement and Build Capacity; State-Identified Measureable Result (SIMR) for Children with Disabilities; Selection of Coherent Improvement Strategies; and Theory of Action.  Phase I of the Alabama SSIP was submitted in April 2015.

State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP): Phase III is part of Indicator 17 where the state includes content updates from Phase I (Data Analysis; Analysis of State Infrastructure to Support Improvement and Build Capacity; State-Identified Measureable Result, SIMR, for Children with Disabilities; Selection of Coherent Improvement Strategies; and Theory of Action) and Phase II (Infrastructure Development; Support for local educational agency (LEA) Implementation of Evidence-Based Practices; and Evaluation).  Phase IIIb is a continuation of reporting of information about the Results of Ongoing Evaluation and Revisions to the SSIP.  Phase IIIb of the Alabama SSIP was submitted in April 2018.
